My tiefling warlock. I just wanted to fart around with effects and THE SHINIES because I was so sick of doing observational work for school. I'm pretty blah on this because it's sort of a pointless pretty picture, but it was nice and brain-numby.

I promise I'll do some epic Sylvie soon.

UPDATE FROM THE FUTURE (3/23/13): This piece is really important to me artistically because it represented the shift in my art from line-based work to my gradual evolution to a more painterly style. It was an uphill battle and very frustrating for a while and it paid off.

Hmm. Well. You look at this as much as you possibly can, and you try to see where this came from. You compare it to the original picture and then you look back a few times, and you can realize, that as compared to the other original picture that this is something brand new. Something that's taken a life of its own. You can feel the flow of direction, you can see the warmth of the picture from the use of colors in this picture also. The anatomy seems improved somewhat compared to your older works, and the image leaves a somewhat strong imprint in ones mind for someone who hasn't seen the original picture. The warmth in this piece seems very nicely conveyed in such a way that you can follow the flow of direction which originally spawns from her hand. The relaxed, serene look on this Tiefling's face gives one a little bit of thought over whats going on in her head...or the emotion felt. But what constantly comes back to the top of my mind is just the warmth and shades and degrees of the yellow's in this piece. All in all, I see why you've taken time off... and if this is whats awaiting, I really cant wait to see what crack you drop on us.
